Smart Idler

Smart-Idler automatically monitors conveyor rollers in real-time, predicting failures and improving safety, productivity, and reducing downtime and operating costs in mining applications by ensuring timely maintenance

We partnered with Vayeron to develop all aspects of the Smart-Idler system, including electronics, embedded software, enclosures, mechanical components, servers, and app. We also assisted with brand development, funding, IP protection, and manufacturing

Our electronics engineers and industrial design team worked hard to implement an energy harvesting design that provided enough power for wireless data communication. Whilst also being reliable in both mechanical and electronic performance to reduce the need for potentially hazardous manual inspections.

A groundbreaking innovation in its field. Our work on the Smart idler did not go unnoticed, with it winning a Good Design Awards Gold in the Industrial Category in 2018.

Although simple in appearance, the technology inside the Smart Idler makes it an essential for mining companies looking to improve on productivity, efficiency and maintenance employee safety.
