The Role
In your role as a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and selling Ingenuity’s advanced product design and engineering services. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying new business opportunities and acquiring clients and projects to develop innovative products from concept to production. A critical aspect of your role will be understanding and interpreting customer needs, allowing you to provide accurate project estimates and detailed technical requirements in well-crafted proposals. Your efforts will have a direct impact on Ingenuity’s brand and market positioning. As a key team member, you will collaborate with other subject matter experts, sharing your expertise and insights to drive success.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Leverage your expertise in design and manufacturing to identify and cultivate new business leads.
- Meet with prospective clients to showcase and advocate for Ingenuity’s technical design services and unique value proposition.
- Qualify, develop, negotiate, and close sales deals, ensuring alignment with company revenue goals.
- Prepare detailed sales proposals that include clear technical requirements and accurate project estimates.
- Implement sales and marketing strategies through content creation and the management of marketing channels.
- Build and maintain strong industry and customer relationships.
- Collaborate with Ingenuity’s subject matter experts to explore and advance sales opportunities.
- Provide regular updates on sales progress and deliver comprehensive monthly sales reports.
Minimum Criteria
In order to be considered for the role, applicants are required to meet the following minimum criteria:
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a working visa
- Hold a relevant engineering degree or equivalent from a reputable University (e.g. Bachelor of Electrical Engineering)
- Have worked in support of electronic product design or in a similar role for 3 or more years
- Have exposure to hardware and software-based technology, with a good understanding of electronics design processes
- Have experience in the technology, manufacturing, or consultancy services industries
- Be proficient in B2B sales and negotiations
- Ability to understand and follow marketing strategy
- Have strong organisational, critical, and analytical thinking skills
- Have excellent verbal and written English communication skills, presentation abilities
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
