Santi the Sloth is an interactive, cuddly companion that promotes sleep and play. Supporting parents to discover their child’s world of sleep, while reclaiming their own. The idea for the Santi sleep companion arose from two parents, who drew on their own sleepless nights and their yearning to better understand their child’s sleep experience. The all-in-one sleeping companion combines an internal Bluetooth speaker, variable nightlight, and teething ring within a friendly plush-toy exterior, providing your young ones with a soothing and comforting friend. Santi’s built-in cry sensor detects when your child is awake, and the integrated speakers and lights help soothe and nurse your child back to sleep.
Santi the Sloth is a cuddly musical companion that helps children feel safe and secure at playtime and bedtime. It incorporates a Bluetooth speaker to play music or sounds and can even automatically play custom MP3 recordings uploaded from the App, such as of the parent’s voice, to help calm crying children. It has a multicoloured night-light for comfort in the dark. Santi is robust enough to be dropped and dribbled on and uses smart sensors and microphones to monitor a child’s behaviours. Feedback and notifications about the child’s status, such as movements or crying, is communicated to a mobile app. Parents can use this to discover their child’s sleeping habits, and help the whole family reclaim a good night’s rest.
Santi the Sloth was Slumber Bum’s first hardware product, and they approached Ingenuity for support. Ingenuity worked with the Slumber Bum team to develop the product’s electronics, industrial design, embedded software and the IOS mobile application. We were involved from preliminary concept through to production.
