The EmbroideryConnect device was developed to wirelessly manage and transfer embroidery designs from the PC software to computer controlled embroidery machines via USB input. The compact device was designed with coloured LED lighting notifications to easily communicate the device status to users. The device has been designed for small and medium size embroidery factories, retail kiosk operators and also for home hobbyists, enabling simple setup and access control with secure and reliable transfer of design files.
This product is revolutionary in the niche area of custom embroidery, enabling users to send design files with one click directly from embroidery software on their PC to the machine fitted with the Wilcom EmbroideryConnect device. The centralised management avoids any manual transfer of individual designs, incorrect design file transfer and any machine incompatibility issues. Designs can be sent from multiple PC’s to one device, or designs can be sent to multiple devices connected to separate embroidery machines. Designs are encrypted during transfer and are deleted from the device after disconnection to protect intellectual property. The device also allows direct connection to a barcode scanner to select designs from a queue for instant upload to the embroidery machine.
Ingenuity collaborated closely with Wilcom to bring this revolutionary product to commercial production. Our electronics hardware team, industrial designers and software developers worked closely with their inhouse software team to design a product that connected seamlessly and enhanced the functionality of their embroidery solutions. We also assisted with production management and technical support for the rollout of the product solving any compatibility issues with legacy equipment.
Wilcom have been able to work with their commercial partners to enable rebranding of this product and their software solution for product bundling by embroidery machinery suppliers.
